The ICN's mission statement is to advocate the adoption of superior standards and procedures in competition policy around the world, formulate proposals for procedural and substantive convergence, and seek to facilitate effective international cooperation to the benefit of member agencies, consumers and economies worldwide.
With member agencies from Albania to Zambia, by any measure, the ICN represents the greatest proportion of competition authorities of any international organization. Ensuring that eligible authorities' application for membership in the ICN are promptly actioned is the responsibility of the Membership Working Group, led by the Korea Fair Trade Commission.
The Membership Working Group, established in 2002, focuses its activities on fostering a greater understanding of the ICN, its mission and objectives.
The ICN Operational Framework Working Group was established following the First ICN Annual Conference in Naples on an interim basis, to consider outstanding issues, such as the constitution of the Steering Group and the funding needs of the Network.
