Daily Press Guidance Example from the U.S. Department of Justice

The daily press guidance is, as the name suggests, issued daily by the Office of Public Affairs. The Office of Public Affairs typically issues the daily press guidance in the late morning, so that the media have it early enough to schedule their day. The press guidance is e-mailed and faxed to all Department press reporters. Reporters also call the office to find out what is on the Press Guidance. Information about press releases, Congressional testimony, speeches and public events are included in the guidance. Since there is always a representative from the Office of Public Affairs available to the media by telephone, 24 hours a day, the Press Guidance also lists which Press Officer is handling "Night Duty."
