View all documents for Subgroup 1: The Effectiveness of Technical Assistance
External technical assistance to new competition authorities has been widely recognized as an important component of effective competition policy implementation. It is the mandate of this subgroup to undertake projects that aim to improve the effectiveness of technical assistance to support an agency’s advocacy and enforcement action. The largest project the subgroup is conducting is a comprehensive examination of past technical assistance projects to identify how the technical assistance needs of newer competition agencies can best be assessed, and which models of technical assistance work best at the various stages of a competition agency’s development. The results of the survey will be published in a report to be presented at the next annual conference in Bonn, Germany. Other projects include a bulletin board for current and future technical-assistance related events and aninventory of past technical assistance efforts, both below.
